Webster University’s online certificate and degree programs are just as academically challenging and demanding as our traditional on-campus programs. Online learning presents its own set of challenges, but often also has unique benefits.
A challenge... Your courses will require a good deal of organization, discipline, motivation, time and effort on your part. Online courses require the same or greater commitment to learning as on-campus courses due to the difference in learning environments.
An emphasis on communication... You will be required to communicate with instructors and classmates using various forms of technology and communication, such as email and discussion boards. At times, you may even be required to meet with other students virtually to complete group projects and assignments. Written communication in the online environment will be very important and may take some time to get accustomed to, since much of it does not happen in real-time.

A virtual classroom experience... Courses offered in Webster’s WorldClassRoom are not self-paced or independent study, but rather follow a structured, week-by-week format. Students will be required to participate in course discussions or activities, complete readings, submit assignments and take exams according to weekly deadlines set by instructors.
To learn from a diverse group of individuals... Your classmates may be serving in the military or working professionals, domestic or international, experienced in their fields or just starting out. The unique viewpoints Webster students bring to the online classroom will help enrich your educational experience.
An academic experience steeped in tradition... Following Webster’s mission, our online certificate and degree programs ensure high quality learning experiences that transform students for global citizenship and individual excellence. Built from nearly a century of traditional education, the courses in the WorldClassRoom incorporate the latest educational technologies to provide a high quality learning experience.
